Judge in Illionois Dismissing Cruz Eligibility Lawsuit

A judge in Illionois is dismissing a lawsuit challenging the eligibility of GOP presidential candidate Senator Ted Cruz.Lawrence Joyce filed a lawsuit charging that Ted Cruz is ineligible to run in the GOP presidential primary in Illinois because he was born in Canada to an American mother.

Judge Maureen Ward Kirby stated that she does not have jurisdiction in the case because the lawsuit had not been served on the Illinois Board of Elections.

Efforts in other states to prevent Cruz from being on the primary ballots have been unsuccessful as well.
