The city of Jupiter, Florida has had the same mayor for a quarter of a century.  That ended last night when former City Councilman Todd Wodraska was inaugurated.

Mayor Wodraska succeeds Mayor Karen Golonka, who announced in August of last year that she would not be running for another term.

Golonka served as as mayor for eight consecutive terms.

Wodraska, a business man who was a consultant on the Comprehensive Everglades Restoration Plan, worked in New York for several years.  He is a native of Jupiter and has served on the town council there since 2004.

Jupiter, a suburb of Miami, Florida, has a population of approximately sixty thousand.
