If you're planning to travel north, you may want to change your plans. The National Weather Service says Oswego, Jefferson and Lewis counties could see several feet of Lake Effect snow and I-81 could even be shut down.

Lake Effect Snow Warning until 5pm Friday for Jefferson, Lewis & Oswego Counties.

* Accumulations - 8 to 15 inches today, 4 to 8 inches tonight, 3 to 5 inches Friday.

* Visibility will be near zero at times. Heavy lake effect snow and strong winds will bring very treacherous travel through Friday with deep snow on roads, including I81 from Pulaski to Watertown.

Lake Effect Snow Warning until 1pm Friday for Hamilton & Northern Herkimer Counties.

* Timing - Intense snow band impacting far northern Herkimer and Northwest Hamilton county, persisting through this morning. The snow may migrate south slightly, then north this afternoon and evening before settling back south tonight and Friday morning. Areas North of Route 28 will have the most persistent snow.

* Accumulations - 1 to 2 feet in the most persistent snow bands. Greatest North of Route 28 to the North and West of Old Forge and Northwest of Raquette Lake.
