Federal, state and local elected leaders met today to discuss the Army proposals regarding the Defense and Finance Service (DAFS) office in Rome.

Senators Charles Schumer and Kirsten Gillibrand, Congressman Richard Hanna and members of Governor Cuomo's staff attended the meeting at Oneida County Executive Anthony Picente's office.

Schumer, Gillibrand and Hanna issued a statement following the meeting.

The lawmakers said while there will not be a BRAC round planned or initiated this year, they continue to monitor potential theats to facilities in Rome and they take the matters very seriously.

They say they will continue to engage the Army and DFAS to obtain all the facts and bring clarity to any proposal that could impact the workforce in Rome.
