NEW YORK, -- LIM College, which is located in New York City and focused on the study of business and fashion, has announced that registration is now open for its Summer Fashion Lab program for high school and visiting college students.

LIM College's Summer Fashion Lab is a pre-college program that gives students the opportunity to study fashion and live in New York City. One-week courses in subjects such as fashion buying, social media marketing, fashion illustration, trend forecasting, fashion photography — and more — are available.

New this year is a pre-program, hands-on workshop, The Fashion Show Experience, in which participants will learn about styling, event planning, and fashion show production, culminating in the production of their own live fashion show. It will be held June 24-28.

Other new courses include:

  • Brand Yourself — learn how to create innovative content and become a fashion influencer
  • Make-up, Perfume & More: The Beauty Biz — explore the latest trends in cosmetics, fragrance, and beauty products
  • Fashion Media Challenge — take on "real-world" media projects, including creating a print ad for a fashion magazine and promoting video on Instagram

Hundreds of students are expected to enroll in 2019's Summer Fashion Lab. Last year, young people came to LIM College from all around the globe — including from as far away as the United Arab Emirates and Hong Kong to as close by as Westchester and New Jersey.

Summer Fashion Lab will run for four weeks: July 8-12, 15-19, 22-26, and July 29-August 2. Tuition for non-credit courses is $200 per course, with discounts offered when registering for more than one class. Courses that offer one college elective credit are $350 each and eligible participants may earn a up to three credits over the course of the four weeks.

Housing is available in LIM College's residence hall on Manhattan's Upper East Side for $495 per week. The residence hall has staff on duty around the clock and features air-conditioned double and triple rooms with private bathrooms. Students who stay in the residence hall can also take part in activities such as New York City sightseeing tours and outings to Broadway shows.
