Little Falls Woman Facing Several Felony Charges Related To Welfare Fraud

A Little Falls woman is facing several felony charges related to Welfare Fraud.

According to the Herkimer County Sheriff's Office, 37-year-old Tara Pett allegedly fraudulently received in excess of $2,700 worth of benefits she was not entitled to over an extended period of time.

The investigation was conducted by the Sheriff's Office Welfare Fraud Unit and the Herkimer County Department of Social Services.

Pett is charged with Grand Larceny, Welfare Fraud and Offering a False Instrument for Filing. She'll be in the Village of Herkimer Court at a later date.
