The Madison County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Division has received Accreditation from the New York State Division of Criminal Justice Services.

This is the first time in its history the Sheriff’s Office Criminal Division has received accreditation.

The agency had to meet 110 standards to become accredited.

“Being awarded accreditation from the New York State Division of Criminal Justice Services is an honor,” said Madison County Sheriff Todd Hood. “Becoming an accredited agency was a goal for my administration from the beginning.  It acknowledges the outstanding job the members of the Madison County Sheriff’s Office do day in and day out.”

Accreditation is granted for a period of five years.

The Sheriff's Office must submit a new application near the end of their five-year period.
