Utica, NY (WIBX) - A Utica man turned himself in after he allegedly punched his ex-girlfriend in the mouth during an argument. Officials say Robert Christ had a valid order of protection against him when he went to his ex-girlfriend's home and got involved in a dispute that led to the victim contacting the police.

The victim reported that after Christ grabbed her by the head and punched her in the mouth, she attempted to call for help but he allegedly grabbed the phone and broke it before fleeing the scene. Officials responding to the incident got word that Christ, of Parker Street in Utica, turned himself in at police headquarters. The suspect is charged with Criminal Mischief-a Misdemeanor, Harassment- a Violation, and 2 Degree Criminal Contempt-a Class E Felony.
