Man Arrested For Threatening Woman With A Knife

A Canastota man is under arrested for allegedly threatening a woman with a knife.

33-year old Richard Galavotti is charged with burglary, menacing and criminal possession of a weapon.

The Madison County Sheriff's Office says Galavotti entered a home on North Main Street in the Town of Lenox Thursday afternoon.

Deputies say Galavotti  pointed a knife at a woman who was in the house and threatened to kill her.

They say the woman's son took the knife from Galavotti, pushed him out of the house and called 911.

Galavotti was arraigned at the Town of Lenox Court and sent to the Madison County Jail.
