PENFIELD, N.Y. (AP) — A western New York man has been charged in connection with the death of his girlfriend's estranged husband earlier this summer.

Fifty-year-old Paul Tucci pleaded not guilty Tuesday in Penfield Town Court to a charge of tampering with evidence. He was released from the Monroe County Jail after posting bail.

Prosecutors say Tucci helped clean up of the crime scene where 50-year-old Craig Rideout of Penfield was slain in July.

Authorities say he was killed in the basement of his suburban Rochester home. His body was found dumped in the woods in the Finger Lakes region. Officials say his face had been disfigured with some type of acid.

Also charged with evidence tampering are Rideout's 45-year-old wife, Laura, and the couple's two sons, ages 19 and 20.

No one has been charged with killing Craig Rideout.
