A man is dead after being hit by a train in Rochester, New York.

Rochester Police say that police officers responded to an area near Scio Street on Sunday, November 1, 2015 for a report of an incident involving a CSX train.

MetroSource reports that the train's conductor told authorities that he saw a man and woman near the tracks and sounded his horn, not certain if he had hit anyone.

Officers located the body of a man, approximately sixty years old, who appeared to have been hit by the train.  It is believed that he was homeless. Authorities say that they did not find anyone else.

The investigation continues this morning.
