Man Sentenced For Blowing Up His House In Suicide Attempt
BUFFALO, N.Y. (AP) — A 73-year-old New York man has been sentenced to prison for blowing up his house in what police said was a suicide attempt.
Santo Cok of Buffalo was sentenced Wednesday to three to nine years in prison.
Prosecutors say Cok disconnected a gas line at his home in April and lit a candle. Cok was unhurt but the explosion destroyed his house and caused a fire that damaged two neighboring homes.
He pleaded guilty in October to arson and reckless endangerment.
