New Hartford, NY (WIBX) - A resident at Seneca Mobile Manor trailer park was ticketed for burning a dismantled mobile home over the weekend. New Hartford emergency officials were called to the scene of the fire, and allegedly observed John W. Feketa operating a backhoe and tending the blaze, which was later determined to be debris from the dismantled mobile unit.

Officials ticketed Feketa for violating a 1990 law that makes it illegal for an individual to dispose of solid waste by burning or burying it. Law enforcement officials are reminding area residents to contact the Oneida-Herkimer Solid Waste Authority to properly dispose of any solid waste material.
