Utica, NY (WIBX) - A memorial service this Sunday at 6:00 p.m.,  is to honor the memory of New Hartford Police Officer Joseph Corr who died in the line of duty. February 27th will mark the 5 year anniversary of the tragedy that claimed the life of the officer who was shot and killed after responding to an armed robbery at a business on Commercial Drive.

The memorial service is taking place at St. John the Evangelist Church on 66 Oxford Road in New Hartford. Organizers say a candlelight tribute will immediately follow the service at 8:00 p.m., behind the Byrne Dairy along Route 5 in Kirkland, the location where Corr was shot while chasing a suspect on foot. The service is open to the public.
