The New York Mets wrapped up a five game series in Philadelphia on Monday night with an emphatic 11-2 victory as they grabbed four of five in the series.

Mets' outfield Matt den Dekker, filling in for Juan Lagares (ribs), had a great night defensively: snagging a home run away from Ryan Howard then gunning down a runner at the plate later in the evening.

den Dekker's two highlights:

As all Mets fans should be, I was very happy to see Terry Collins and company make a statement in Philadelphia. They need to beat the teams under them if they have any chance at contending. These highlights, though, make me wonder why the Mets signed and retained so many outfielders, considering Lagares and den Dekker have enough talent to play at the MLB level - and actually play better than the Mets two outfield acquisitions have (Chris Young and Curtis Granderson).
