Authorities in Madison County say they found a mobile meth lab in the Town of Sullivan.

The Madison County Sheriff's Office says a vehicle with two men inside was located near the intersection of Bolivar and Fyler Roads just after 2:30 Tuesday morning.

Deputies say an active one-pot method lab was found in the rear of the covered pickup truck.

The driver of the vehicle is William Brightman, 44, of Fayetteville, who was charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance and unlawful manufacture of meth.

Brightman was also issued tickets by the New York State Police at this morning’s scene for aproperty damage hit and run accident that occurred with the same vehicle last night. Lawenforcement had been trying to locate the vehicle from that incident when it was discovered this morning.

He was sent to the Madison County jail on $25,000 bail.

The passenger, Brian Machnik, 52, of Cicero, was charged with criminal possession of a hypodermic instrument after police allegedly found a hypodermic needle in his boot.

Machnik was issued an appearance ticket for July 1.
