The 2019 Regional Economic Development Council awards were handed out on Thursday in Albany.

The Mohawk Valley Regional Economic Development Council was awarded $82.7 million as a Top Performer.  The $82.7 million will support 81 regional projects.

The Mohawk Valley Region has been named a Top Performer for the last five years.

Ten regions competed for $761 million in economic development funding in the ninth round of the REDC competition.

Senator Joseph Griffo offered the following statement regarding Thursday’s announcement of the Regional Economic Development Council awards:

“I commend the Mohawk Valley Regional Economic Development Council for devising a strategic plan that they believe will best contribute to the long-term growth and sustainability of the Mohawk Valley. The $82.7 million in funding awarded today, as a result of the council’s blueprint, will build upon the revitalization already taking place while also providing for additional investment, job growth and economic opportunity and development in the region.”
