Another candidate has thrown their hat into the ring for a seat on the Utica School Board.

32-year old Briana Moriarty is a lifelong Utica resident and 2004 graduate of Proctor High School.

She currently works for the Estate Planning Law Center and also manages her family owned business Valentino's Banquet Hall.

Moriarty said, “There is a lot of development and excitement in Utica but in order to retain and attract young families we need to make improvements within our school district.  Those improvements will only come to fruition if we have a school board that is accountable, accessible and responsive to the needs and concerns of teachers, parents and students.”

Howard Potter, Anthony LaPolla and Joseph Hobika, Junior are also running for three open seats on the board.

The school board election and budget vote will take place on May 15th.
