New Hartford Named One of the Best High Schools in America
New Hartford High School has once again made the ranks as one of the best high schools in the country according to U.S. News and World Reports.
According to the 2017 Best High Schools list New Hartford came in at #409. The determination is made by U.S. News and World Reports based on a number of factors including results of state-required testing, graduation rate and college readiness, to name a few. To give some perspective into the significance of this "Gold" ranking, data is collected and reviewed from more than 28,000 high schools. Only 500 receive a gold ranking.
For this Central New York school they came in with a 59.9 on the college readiness index. 78% of AP exams were passed, mathematics proficiency came in at 96% and the English proficiency came in at 99%. Another huge reason that New Hartford was ranked so high this year was their 99% graduation rate.
When it comes to their ranking Statewide, New Hartford came in a #50 overall and they received a ranking of #238 on the list of STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) High Schools.
This is not the first time New Hartford has received an honor from U.S. News and World Reports. This honor is a testament to the teachers and staff that nurture the student body in that district.
