New Hartford Police Arrest Woman for Switching Price Tags on Items
The New Hartford Police Department has arrested a woman following a report of larceny at the Walmart on Commercial Drive.
According to police a woman was reportedly switching price tags on merchandise in order to purchase the items at a reduced rate.
Police allege 36-year-old Jennifer Martin of Utica intentionally scanned the wrong bar codes while using the self check out system.
After Martin completed the fraudulent transaction, she was confronted by a store employee and later arrested by New Hartford Police. She is facing a misdemeanor charge for Petit Larcey and one Felony count of Falsifying Business Records.
