
New Hartford Schools on Lockout Because of ‘Safety Reasons’
New Hartford Central School's are currently on lockout.
The school district issued this statement on their website:
All New Hartford Central School District campuses are currently on a lockout
due to a reported safety concern on the Utica College Campus.
Utica College placed its campus in lockdown around 11:00 am on the morning
of March 5, 2018.
A lockout is used to secure school buildings and grounds during incidents that
pose an imminent concern outside of the school. During a lockout, students,
faculty, and staff are especially alerted to instructions and updates as the
school day proceeds. Classroom instruction to continues as normal. All
school building doors continue to remain locked, all exterior windows are
locked, and all outside activities are terminated.
