Police in Utah plan to launch another search for Susan Cox Powell, who disappeared in 2009. The latest effort is based on new and credible information about the disappearance of the 28-year-old mother of two.

Powell was reported missing by her mother and sister on Dec. 7, 2009. When police broke into the empty house, they found two fans blowing on a wet spot on the carpet.

Her husband, Josh Powell, was questioned by police later that evening. He claims he last saw Susan at their home in West Valley City, Utah, on Dec. 6, right before he left on a middle-of-the-night camping trip to the desert with their sons, then 2 and 4.

Powell and the boys moved to Washington state one month after Susan vanished. He is still considered a person of interest, and Susan’s friends and family believe Josh has some involvement with her disappearance.

Authorities will search the high mountain desert near Ely, Nev., for any signs of Powell. The area is about 237 miles southwest from her home. Anyone with information about the case is urged to contact police at (801) 840-4000.
