New Recycling Program Coming to Village of Mohawk

The Village of Mohawk is implementing a new recycling program for its residents. The goal of the program is to increase recycling and make collection more efficient and convenient.

The change will impact those who currently use garbage bags, or the current cart system. Each property will receive a brand new cart for recyclable items only. The bins are owned by Spohn Disposal, and should not be transported to a new location. Spohn Disposal will begin delivering the new carts during the final week in January.

All recyclable items must be placed loosely, with no plastic bags, string or twine, inside the new recycling cart with the lid closed to be eligible for pick-up. Garbage is prohibited from being placed in the recycling cart.
