SYRACUSE, N.Y. (AP) — The new mayor of Syracuse is holding his inaugural ball in an old newspaper building.

The Post-Standard of Syracuse reports that Mayor Ben Walsh will host his inaugural ball at the former Post-Standard building Saturday evening, in part because there was nowhere else big enough.

Walsh's team is expecting about 700 people for the downtown event.

Running as an independent, Walsh won a four-way race in November to become mayor of the central New York city.
