New Woodstock Man Charged with Welfare Fraud

A New Woodstock man has been arrested for welfare fraud.

The Madison County Sheriff's Office says 25-year old Edward Nelson allegedly failed to report income to the Department of Social Services from June to September of this year.

They say as a result, Nelson received over $2,000 he was not eligible for.

Nelson is charged with welfare fraud and grand larceny.
