Ivan Nova (8-2) picked up his fourth consecutive win with seven shutout innings as the Yankees took the opener in Atlanta 3-0 on Monday, and moved into a tie for first place with the idle Rays.

Robinson Cano had an RBI single in the first inning and Raul Ibanez clubbed a solo homer in the second for the Yankees, who are riding a four game winning streak of their own, along with nine wins in the last eleven games to move to 35-25.

Randall Delgado (4-6) exited after five innings, allowing three runs on five hits and six walks. His wild pitch in the third inning allowed Alex Rodriguez to score New York's other run.

Nick Swisher was 0-2 with two walks at the plate but made an outstanding defensive play in the fourth inning, robbing a home run from Braves catcher Brian McCann.

Cory Wade and Boone Logan split the ninth inning, so not save was credited.

Nova finished with a line of five hits, one walk and six Ks.
