The Syracuse Orange improved their record to 18-0 with a convincing 79-66 win over Villanova on Wednesday.

Dion Waiters scored 20 points and snatched five boards to lead the Orange, who are 18-0 overall and 5-0 in the Big East. James Southerland added 13 points, while Scoop Jardine lead Syracuse with five assists, to go along with eight points.

The Orange built a big first half lead, 43-24 at the break, and cruised in the second half.

The Wildcats got 12 points apiece from Dominic Cheek, JayVaughn Pinkston and Mouphtaou Yarou. Nova started the year 4-0, but have struggled since, dropping to 8-9 following Wednesday's defeat.

Syracuse will host Providence at the Carrier Dome on Saturday night at 6:00.
