It certainly appears that the number of car and motorcycle crashes is increasing, not decreasing, throughout the world, or perhaps we are just catching more of them on video, as dashboard-mounted cameras ("dashcams") become more common.

Want to teach young drivers the importance of defensive driving?  Check out the crash videos below from North America, Taiwan, China, India, and other parts of the world.

Note that these videos are not suitable for everyone.  Some contain graphic and disturbing scenes.

Many of the videos illustrate the fact that often the accident is not the driver's fault - a good lesson for young, inexperienced drivers to learn is that it does not matter how good a driver may be - often whether or not one gets into an accident is determined by how experienced the person behind the wheel is at avoiding the bad driving of others.  And sometimes "safe driving" is simply a matter of not being in the wrong place at the wrong time.
