GREENPORT, N.Y. (AP) — New York State Police are asking the public for help in solving the death of a 43-year-old Hudson Valley woman nearly two decades ago.

Two duck hunters discovered the body of Jacqueline McCalop on Sept. 30, 2000 near a boat launch. The Times Union reports the body was located on the east shore of the Hudson River in Greenport, about 30 miles (48 kilometers) south of Albany.

She was identified using fingerprints and had been stabbed multiple times in the torso.

An investigation later found that her family had not seen McCalop since Sept. 14, 2000 and had reported her missing.

Troopers say they believe someone in the Hudson Valley area has information that could lead to an arrest.

Anyone with information is asked to contact state police.
