(WIBX) - The New York Power Authority says energy improvements it has made will save taxpayers hundreds of thousands of dollars a year and cut greenhouse gas emissions by more than 1,600 tons annually.

Lighting upgrades at the Clinton Central School District, replacement of ventilators, water heaters, and hot water tanks cost approximately $3.7 million, a cost the power authority says that Onedia County will recoup in only a few years.
