A group of community partners and Oneida County health officials took part in a Community Health Assessment meeting at Harts Hill Inn in Whitesboro on Thursday.

County Health Director Phyllis Ellis says the meeting is the first step in the process of gathering stakeholder input on the top health issues facing the community.

She says the CHA will look at health data and other factors that influence our health like poverty, smoke-free policies, physical activity and air quality.

Ellis says the next step will be to collect feedback from community members.

The County Health Department and local hospitals will use the final report to develop a health improvement plan.

Representatives from over 70 community agencies and organizations attended the event.
