A Republican candidate for Oneida County legislator has been arrested following an investigation by Rome Police.

70-year old Ronald Townsend of Rome was charged with forcible touching and harassment.

Police say they received a complaint from a woman who alleged she was touched on an intimate part of her body.

Townsend's possible opponent in the November election, Democratic Minority Leader Frank Tallarino, was arrested earlier this week on stalking and coercion charges.  Tallarino was scheduled to appear in Oneida City Court today, but the proceeding was postponed.
