Utica, NY (WIBX) - The economy is not doing well but don't tell Oneida County.

Oneida County Executive Anthony Picente and Tourism President Kelly Blazosky say that hard work and cooperation to promote the county appear to be paying off in a big way.

More than $1.1 billion in tourism was generated last year, representing an eight percent hike in business from the year before for the second straight year.

More than $63-million in sales tax revenue was generated locally.

Oneida County accounted for more than sixty percent of Central New York's regional tourism sales.
