Utica, NY (WIBX) - "Operation Armadillo" nabbed a wanted fugitive from Rochester after a vehicle pursuit. Utica police conducting surveillance on Downer Avenue arrested the suspect wanted for a July 15 bank robbery in the Town of Penfield. Ruslan Konovalchuk was seen leaving a residence around 2:15 yesterday afternoon, when he engaged police in a car chase that ended near the North Utica/Schuyler City line.

The suspect who was driving a stolen car, is facing numerous charges including Unlawful Fleeing From a Police Officer in a Motor Vehicle, Resisting Arrest and Reckless Driving. Officials say the suspect used a note to rob the M&T Bank in July. He was turned over to the Monroe County Sheriff's Office.
