The No. 1 Syracuse Orange got out to a huge lead in the first half and held off a late-run by No. 20 Marquette to remain undefeated with a 17-0 record overall, and moved to 4-0 in Big East Conference play.

The Orange lead by as many as 23 points in the first half. But, the Golden Eagles (12-4, 1-2 Big East) came back and trialed by only two after Darius Johnson-Odom's three-pointer cut the deficit to 57-59 with under five-minutes to play. The Orange outplayed Marquette from there, outscoring the Golden Eagles 15-9 to hold for a 73-66 win.

Kris Joseph's 17 points lead Syracuse, followed a 16 point performance from Brandon Triche. Dion Waiters had a solid all around game with 12 points, seven assists, four boards and three steals.

Syracuse visits the Villanova Wildcats (7-8, 0-3 Big East) on Wednesday night.
