The Mets gave Johan Santana a four run lead, but the ace-lefty couldn't hold the it, thanks in part to three New York errors, as the Pirates rallied for 5-4 win on Monday night in Pittsburgh.

Justin Turner drove in a pair of runs in New York's four run second inning, followed by RBI-hits from David Wright and Ronny Cedeno.

Santana allowed four earned runs on eight hits in his 6 1/1 innings, including Michael McKenry's game-tying two run shot in the seventh.

Then in the eight, Kirk Nieuwenhuis and Mike Baxter nearly collided on Clint Barmes' routine fly ball, a three base error that eventually allowed the Bucs to score the go-ahead run.

Jon Rauch(3-3) suffered the loss despite not giving up a hit or a walk in the inning.

Joel Hanrahan picked up his tenth save with a perfect ninth.

The Mets (22-20) have lost six of their last nine games.
