Police Investigating Online Threat to the Potsdam Central School District

Someone used an unlikely venue to post a threat directed at an upstate school district.

In a written release New York State Police (NYSP) say that at approximately 11:00pm on Thursday, May 21, 2015 someone posted a threat on the NYSP's Facebook page.

The Potsdam Central School District was notified about the threat, which troopers say, "...does not appear to be credible at this time."

Authorities say that their investigation is continuing, but there is no cause for alarm.

The Potsdam Central School District is in St. Lawrence County.

An update is expected later this afternoon from State Police.
