Utica, NY (WIBX) - A day after announcing plans to withdraw 10,000 troops from Afghanistan this year,  President Obama pays a visit to troops at Fort Drum. The president, during his address to the nation last night, said another 23,000 troops are set to come home by next summer. That makes it a total of 33,000 troops that will be leaving the war torn region. Officials say that number roughly equals the number of surge troops that Obama deployed to Afghanistan previously. All U.S. forces are set to be out of Afghanistan by the end of 2014.
