Tuesday is Primary Day in New York and while it's an off year for elections, there are some key local races to keep your eye on.

In the Town of German Flatts, which encompasses Mohawk and Ilion, the Town Supervisor position is a hot race.  Republican Incumbent Frank Spatto is being challenged by Peter Rovazzi III. Spatto has been caught up in a controversy over the closure of a mobile home park due to threats of flooding. The couple that owns the park, Bill and Virginia Jaquish, are appealing the courts order to vacate and claim the entire matter is due to a personal issue they have with Spatto. Rovazzi, is Virginia Jaquish's son.

In Utica, there are a couple of heated Council seat primaries.  In the 4th Ward, Incumbent Joe Marino is being challenged by a former Council President, Frank Meola. Also, 6th Ward Councilperson Samantha Colosimo-Testa is being challenged by Frank Pelli.

There are several Legislator notable primaries on Tuesday:

12th District - Rome  -  Democrat,  Michael Brown is facing Barb Calandra.

22nd District - Utica - Democrat, Roanne Convertino is facing Robert Oliveira

16th District - New Hartford - Republican, Mary Pratt is challenged by Don Bachman

23rd District - Utica - Republican, Frank Gentile is facing Emil Paperella

Meanwhile, in the Town of New Hartford Town Supervisor position, Republican Incumbent Pat Tyksinski is being challenged by Councilman Paul Miscione.
