New York's state and local primary races will be decided on a Thursday this year, not a Tuesday.

That's because the second Tuesday of September is the 11th. Those commemorating the anniversary of 9/11 and those celebrating the end of Rosh Hashanah were reasons cited by Governor Andrew Cuomo and the legislature when they adjusted the date earlier this year.

The date set was two days later: September 13, 2018. Polls at all central New York voting locations will be open from noon to 9:00 p.m.
