The New York State Public Service Commission will be holding a public hearing next month on a proposal by Mohawk Valley EDGE to build an electronic transmission line and new substation in Marcy.

The hearing will take place on Wednesday, January 4th at 6:00 at SUNY Poly in Marcy.

It's not necessary to make an appointment in advance or to present written material to speak at the hearing.

EDGE wants to build a new transmission line from the Edic Road Substation, owned and operated by National Grid, to a new substation to be owned and operated by Fort Schuyler Management Corporation.

The transmission line would be used to provide electricity to tenants at the Marcy Nanocenter site.  There are currently no existing electric transmission lines serving the site.
