Friday's rain showers have washed away a chance for local racing fans to see Tony Stewart and the Arctic Cat All-Star Circuit of Champions

Stewart and company were scheduled to race at the Utica-Rome Speedway Friday night, but local track officials say the wet weather has forced them cancel the event.

“Our goal was to do everything that we could to get the show in, but unfortunately, the forecast never improved and left us with little hope,” said Series director, Don Grabey. “We (are) currently working with track officials to find a suitable date to return in 2019,'' a statement on the UticaRomeSpeedway.com read.

Organizers are still hoping to race two other events in New York this weekend.

The All-Star Circuit is scheduled to race at the Orange County Fair Speedway in Middletown, NY this Saturday, and at the Lebanon Valley Speedway in West Lebanon, NY on Sunday.
