Mark Teixeira's first error of the season helped the Tampa Bay Rays get past the Yankees 4-3 on Monday night as the teams opened a three game series in Florida.

After the Rays tied it a three-all in the bottom of the seventh, Teixeira missed a grounder off the bat of Elliot Johnson, scoring Brooks Conrad with the eventual game winning run.

David Robertson (0-3) was saddled with a blown save, his third, and a tough luck loss.

Starter Freddy Garcia made it through 5 1/3 innings of five hit, two-run ball while striking out four.

Matt Moore evened his record at 5-5, giving up three runs on nine hits through seven innings.

Fernando Rodeny worked a 1-2-3 ninth for his 23rd save.
