Red Cross To Launch Home Fire Campaign In Ilion

Just one week after responding to two multi-unit fires in Ilion, the American Red Cross of the Mohawk Valley is launching a home fire campaign in the village.

The Red Cross Home Fire Preparedness Campaign will begin on Saturday morning at the Ilion Fire Department at 9:00.

Following  a formal campaign kick-off, Red Cross staff will join members of the Fire Department to deliver fire safety information and resources, including free smoke alarms, to residents

Last October, the American Red Cross unveiled a new campaign to reduce deaths and injuries from home fires across the county by as much as 25-percent over the next five years.
