A traffic stop on Thursday evening has led to the arrest of a Rome woman under Leandra's Law.

The Oneida County Sheriff's Department reports that they received a civilian complaint that a woman may have been intoxicated with children in the car.

Deputies then pulled over Cerissa Caro of Rome. Following an investigation it was discovered Caro was allegedly intoxicated with two children under the age of 16-years-old as passengers in the vehicle.

She is facing several charges including two counts of Leandra's Law DWI, two counts of Endangering the Welfar of a Child, common law DWI, and other traffic violations. Caro has been arraigned in the City of Rome court and remanded to the Oneida County Jail.
