Sculpture Space in Utica will use a $10,000 state grant to buy a new, high-efficiency heating system.

The grant was announced by Assemblyman Anthony Brindisi.

The project was supported by contributions from NYSERDA, Earl Reed of ECR International; Charlie Fisher of BGM Plumbing and the Community Foundation of Oneida and Herkimer Counties.

“For the first time since our beginnings almost 40 years ago, artists, staff, community members, neighborhood residents, and visitors can enjoy the studio experience more fully.  They can observe, learn and enjoy the creative process of emerging and established artists from all over the world.  This new high efficiency boiler will allow us to extend our programming into the coldest months of the Mohawk Valley winters, as well as save money,” Sculpture Space Executive Director Monica Burczyk said.
