LIVONIA, N.Y. (AP) — Police have resumed their search for the bodies of two western New York men who are presumed to have drowned after their snowmobile broke through the ice on one of the Finger Lakes.

The Livingston County Sheriff's Office says the search resumed Wednesday morning on Conesus (kun-EE'-shuhs), 20 miles south of Rochester. The search was suspended last week because of worsening ice conditions.

Authorities say Christopher Copeland, of Livonia, and Jason Fluet, of Rochester, both 40, went out on a single snowmobile early on the morning of Feb. 11 and never returned. They're believed to have gone through thin ice on the northern end of the lake, the westernmost of the Finger Lakes.

The initial search turned up two helmets but no other sign of the men has been found.
