This Sunday will mark 15 years since the terrorist attacks on September 11th, 2001. Locally here in Central New York, there are several events going on on Sunday so you can pay your respects at.

8:30AM- Pine Hills Golf Course

A flag ceremony will be held prior to golf tournament raising money for war dogs and handlers. The ceremony will begin at 8:30AM.

 

8:46AM- 9/11 Remembrance Ceremony

A remembrance ceremony will be held at the 911 Memorial on the Parkway. A wreath will be placed at the memorial at the precise time the first plane impacted Number 1 World Trade Center in New York City.

 

11AM- Memorial Service In The Town Of Western Park

This service will be held just south of the Western Fire Station on Route 46. They will toll bells for those first responders who lost their lives at the World Trade Center on 9/11.

1PM - 4PM- 3rd Annual Veterans and First Responders Picnic

The Mohawk American Legion Post 25, located in Mohawk, will be holding a free community picnic in honor of our Veterans and First Responders. The event is completely free to veterans, first responders and the public.

5PM- The Police and Fire Memorial Park on Black River Boulevard

The City of Rome will hold their annual 9/11 Memorial Ceremony and Police and Fire Honor Wall dedication ceremony at 5:00pm. This year they will be honoring 4 former police officers and 11 former firefighters by dedicating their name plaques on the Honor Wall.
