Call it a twist on "Coffee with a Cop."

The Oneida County Sheriff's Office hosted "Coffee with a Correction Officer" events at several locations throughout the area on Monday.

Uniform correction officers were on hand to talk about what they do each day at the Oneida County Jail.

Sheriff Rob Macoil says the Corrections Division is one of the most important components in the criminal justice system and one the public doesn't get to see.

The deadline to file an application for the latest correction officer's exam is December 23rd.  The civil service exam will be held on February 11th.

The Sheriff's Office will be hiring 14 new correction officers by spring of next year.
