UPDATED 2:26 p.m.- A Rome man was seriously injured Tuesday morning in a two-vehicle accident on Route 26 in the Town of Lee.

The Oneida County Sheriff's Office says 57-year old Ronnie Pendarvis lost control of his car and sideswiped a Superior Plus Energy  fuel tanker.

Pendarvis was airlifted to University Hospital in Syracuse where he's listed in serious condition.

The driver of the fuel tanker, 59-year old Mitchell Blaakman of McConnellsville, was not injured.

The accident is under investigation.

Route 26 between Weaver Road and Belcher Road has re-opened.

The Oneida County Sheriff's Office is on the scene of a two-vehicle accident on Route 26 near the intersection of Converse Road in the Town of Lee.

The accident involved a car and a tanker truck.

Sheriff Rob Maciol says it appears one person sustained serious injuries.

Route 26 between Converse Road and Weaver Road is closed while the accident is investigated.
